The designers used a spring-loaded tractor seat for the flexible metal seat and secured it with a wing nut to connect it with the spring steel strip used in tractors to absorb the shock of uneven ground, and named it “Mezzadro”.<\/p>\n
They increased the stability of the cantilever structure with a wooden cross support, which resembled the rungs of a wooden staircase. The stool was unveiled in its current form in the same year in the interior of the Villa Olmo in Como, in the exhibition “Colori e forme nella casa d’oggi”.<\/p>\n
Launched in 1970 by Zanotta, Mezzadro Stool is also in the Vitra Design Museum collection.<\/p>\n
