Hans J. Wegner
Hans J. Wegner (April 2, 1914-2007) is considered the most creative, innovative and prolific among Danish furniture designers. Often referred to as the master of the chair, Wegner created almost 500 during his lifetime, many of which are considered masterpieces. Created in 1949 inspired by China’s Ming dynasty, the iconic Wishbone Chair is probably the most recognizable and has been in continuous production since 1950.
