Hella Jongerius

Hella Jongerius, known for his style that combines industry and craft, high and low technology, tradition and the contemporary, founded the studio Jongeriuslab in 1993. Here, the designer has designed products for major brands such as Maharam, Danskina, IKEA and KLM, as well as producing independent projects.

The Dutch designer has designed different pieces for Vitra, such as the Polder Sofa and the East River Chair. The designer, who has always given importance to colors and surfaces in his work with textiles, ceramics and furniture, worked as Vitra’s art director on colors and materials for years. Hella Jongerius’ work has been shown in museums and galleries such as the Design Museum in London, Galerie Kreo in Paris and Moss Gallery in New York.
