First designed in 1957 for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, the AJ Lamp is one of Arne Jacobsen’s most important design icons. The product family initially consisted of a floor lamp, wall lamp, table lamp and a smaller table lamp, as well as a table lamp designed to be attached to a table. The AJ Table Lamp has an iconic, graphic expression that harmonizes wonderfully with Jacobsen’s design style and contrasts with the curves of some of the furniture in the SAS Royal Hotel. The luminaire emits light directed downwards. The angle of the shadow can be adjusted to optimize light distribution. The inside of the shade is painted white to provide a soft, comfortable light.
