Duo was designed by André Ricard for “executive desks”. It is composed of two symmetrical and contrasting elements, yin and yang, which complement each other with a perfect sense of proportion. The luminous flux can be adjusted by the independent rotation of the glass lampshades, which can be opaque to focus the light on the work surface or translucent to provide a more general illumination. A prominent push button on the narrow centered body acts as a switch for both. Manufactured in the 1970s and discontinued in the 1980s due to the onslaught of new halogen lamps that tried to emulate the worldwide success of Richard Sapper’s Tizio. Today, with the comfort and efficiency of LED technology, Duo enhances the aesthetic and functional user experience wherever it is used.
