Poul Henningsen has designed hundreds of lamps based on the triple shade system he developed in 1926, providing a unique quality of illumination to suit every need. Most of his lamp designs include a number that refers to the shade size of each luminaire. PH 3/3 is described as a ‘whole’ sized pendant, characterized by its attractive compact appearance, where the upper shade of approximately 30 cm corresponds to the middle and lower shade in a ratio of 3:2:1. PH’s ‘whole’ sized luminaires are specifically designed to be glare-free and are therefore ideal for placing high up in a room where they integrate great quality lighting with a cozy ambience. In 1929, to further meet lighting needs, he combined beautiful and classic materials such as copper and opal glass to ensure the highest quality of light. The light characteristic of Poul Henningsen’s ‘whole’ sized PH 3/3 elevates contemporary interiors with the distinctive special beam of the elegant, modern Danish classic in almost every room in the house.
