In 1966, the Platner Collection captured the “decorative, gentle, elegant” shapes that were beginning to seep into the modern vocabulary.
The armchair, which can be used as a dining chair or a guest armchair, is formed by welding curved steel rods to circular and semicircular frames, acting simultaneously as structure and ornament.
The seat shell is made of molded fiberglass with molded latex foam cushions. The base is made of circular, horizontal and vertical steel bars welded to the edge framing bars. Nickel and 18-carat gold plated and polished. The metallic bronze finish is a paint and there is a clear plastic extrusion ring under the base for a smooth bottom surface.
