The tea trolley was inspired by the English tea culture that Aino and Alvar Aalto met during their travels and the Japanese woodwork and architecture they admired.
The twin wheels, combined with the lightness and quality of the birch wood, help the cart to easily maneuver and park at any time. Over the years, many variants of the Tea Trolley have been produced. Dutch designer and colorist Hella Jongerius delved into Artek’s archives to offer her own interpretation of one of Alvar Aalto’s most beloved products.
