The Greek goddess Theia, mother of the sun, moon and dawn, gives her name to this lamp, whose design aims to express the beauty of light and our admiration for it. In Theia, materials and shapes are only physical manifestations of the basic concept: combining both light and shadow in a single piece.
Theia has two faces: To discover them, simply rotate the luminaire around its central axis. It can be pointed at you for use as a reading lamp, or it can be pointed at an object or wall to create a subtle, indirect light. As Theia’s metal lampshade is completely opaque, this rotational movement completely changes the perception of the piece. Theia’s formal design is simple and fluid: it consists of two intersecting hemispheres, one placed horizontally and the other vertically.
