Gebrüder Thonet Vienna renews its collaboration with India Mahdavi: For the second year in a row, the unique style of the internationally renowned architect and designer meets the emblematic curved lines of the Austrian brand and brings the chaise longue to life.
In response to an invitation from the historic company Gebrüder Thonet Vienna, India Mahdavi designed a new chaise longue called Mickey for its characteristic “ears” reminiscent of mouse ears, a tangible echo of Mahdavi’s “childhood heroes”. The Mickey armchair emphasizes the playful spirit of the piece, combining a slightly contrasting black wood structure with two different nuances of green upholstery. “Gebrüder Thonet Vienna is the only manufacturer in the world that allows you to translate a freehand drawing by giving it this quality of wood material,” says India Mahdavi.
In the words of India Mahdavi: “The Mickey chair is high and comfortable but also embracing, colorful and gentle. A friend to cherish, with big ears, who listens to all your fears.”
