The famous café chair is a landmark in the history of modern furniture and to this day the most successful mass-produced product in the world.
Chair 214, developed and perfected by Michael Thonet in the 1850s, laid the foundation for industrial furniture production with the invention of wood bending and modular manufacturing. It is the first example of furniture in history where the workforce was industrialized by dividing it into phases. Thanks to the fact that it can be boxed and stacked modularly, it is the first example of 36 chairs fitting into one cubic meter of space.
Thanks to its exceptional quality and timeless aesthetics, it is extremely long-lasting and can be easily repaired at any time.
