Ingo Maurer’s Birds lights are iconic design lights characterized by a cheerful idea and careful craftsmanship. The collection consists of various wall lamps, ceiling lamps, table lamps, floor lamps and hangers equipped with one or more bladed bulbs. It started in 1992 with the Lucellino lights, consisting of a light bulb equipped with small white wings and a simple wire that creates the impression of flying freely in the room. The wings are made by hand from genuine white goose feathers and the wire supports can be shaped, allowing the direction and extension of the bulbs to be adjusted individually.
Ingo Maurer’s Birdie’s Nest LED is a new version of the Birdie’s Nest luminaire specially designed for low ceiling heights. Ten LED light sources with low energy consumption emit a warm white light and thus create a pleasant room atmosphere. Ten bladed illuminators are separated by transparent cables on tinned copper rods. Ingo Maurer’s poetic play of light makes it seem as if a swarm of white-winged light bulbs is flying into the room. The user becomes a co-designer, bending and extending the bars to their final position.
