Luceplan’s Hope light is a modern designer classic that produces magical lighting effects with a multi-part shade composed of Fresnel lenses. The design by Paolo Rizzatto and Francisco Gomez Paz has won the Compasso d’Oro and the Red Dot Design Award, among other major honors.
The shade of the Luceplan Hope luminaire is made of polycarbonate but has the appearance of shiny crystal glass because it is made of several Fresnel lenses arranged like a flower around the bulb, magnifying its light and magically shimmering. Presnel lenses are used in lighthouses. They are particularly thin and light, a characteristic reinforced here by the use of synthetics. The result is the precious splendor of a crystal chandelier, but without the weight and fragility.
