The Cestone sofa is designed to be placed in the center of the living room.
The back and sides of the sofa are in the foreground; these are usually the parts that cannot be counted on to bring added value. Instead, the back and sides of the Cestone sofa are made of metal frames upholstered with strips of woven cowhide. The strips are available in two different widths and there are two options for the irregular weaving pattern. The cowhide strips can be woven tightly, creating a compact surface; or more loosely woven, allowing the underlying upholstery fabric to show through. The resulting ‘checkerboard’ pattern makes a strong visual statement, contrasting aesthetically pleasingly with the soft, perfectly proportioned upholstered pieces.
The Cestone sofa can be paired with the eponymous coffee tables with wooden tops in various stain finishes, creating a pleasant textural contrast with the warmth of the cowhide.
