Clarissa Single Armchair is a swivel mechanism armchair designed by designer Patricia Urquiola for the Moroso brand. A body with a compact profile combines with a soft and comfortable inner cushion. The steel or veneer base has a structure that can rotate perfectly in the office or in modern living spaces.
Clarissa is a dynamic and comfortable seat, ready for action, but also open for relaxation and temporary pause of activities. Competition and cooperation, provocation and aesthetics merge.
Clarrissa gives the impression of two intertwined seats, one layer enveloping and protecting, the other opening outwards, a design idea that is a clear contradiction, a subtle distinction between form and content, image and concept. The name “Hood” also implies this dual function. The hood is both an ancient and contemporary urban symbol; it protects and frames the face, but it can also hide it, indicating a refusal to communicate or interact. The effect is intense and everything is a play of contrasts: the three-dimensional seat looks like a two-dimensional drawing is implied, the overlapping colors do not divide but complement, the tension is not relieved but balanced.
Fire resistant polyurethane foam injected on a steel frame, swivel base; varnished steel or oak veneered. The inner mechanism can be separated by connecting the removable quilt with a zipper.
