In this creation by Antonio Citterio, a tubular steel base opens into a slender, sophisticated structure on which a padded shell upholstered in fabric rests, as if floating in the air. Leather upholstery with hand-stitched legs and armrests make this creation a perfect example of Cassina’s attention to detail.
The backrest, which folds backwards over the structure, creates an additional, more comfortable seating element, while the exposed screws on the legs, a hallmark of the Esosoft family, allow for easy removal of the base. Esosoft was developed with sustainability in mind, using circular materials such as polyurethane with a certain proportion of polyols in the filling and recycled PET filling in the padding, while the base is completely removable.
