It was originally designed for the headquarters of the FAD (Fostering Arts and Design) association in Barcelona. FAD was founded in 1903 by a group of craftsmen and architects deeply concerned about the consequences of industrialization. For decades, the association has been a leading advocate for Spanish architecture and the projective arts. Miguel Milá created the FAD lamp after experimenting with four remaining pieces of wood. The cylindrical oak column creates a vertical symmetry that elegantly supports an almost cylindrical white linen lampshade. The cross-shaped legs, reminiscent of other classics by Miguel Milá, share the same dimensions as the lower perimeter of the lampshade.
