MASTERPIECE OF DESIGN
The Table tube d’avion design table, the expression of Cassina’s long research into the masterpieces of the great masters, is one of the first studio models presented by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand at the Salon D’Automne in Paris.
The uniqueness of this piece, made in Italy, lies in the distinction between the supporting part and the supported part, i.e. between the top and the base, the latter being designed with reference to the oval profiles used in the aviation industry to separate the wings of biplanes.
The current version of the iconic rectangular table features a steel base painted in the Le Corbusier color palette, while the top is made of clear glass, textured glass or luxurious Bianco Carrara or Nero Marquinia marble.
