After perfecting the art of galvanized steel in the 1920s, Xavier Pauchard trademarked his company Tolix. The company’s Marais A Chair has become a cafe seating standard in France and an icon of industrial aesthetics. Taken over by his sons in 1948, Tolix still creates Pauchard’s designs to his exacting standards today.
