The Matéria low board / occasional table series stands out with its special dimensions and calm atmosphere. The concave, organically shaped table top evokes an intuitive desire to caress its surface and feel its natural texture. Originally a purely experimental design by German designer Christian Haas, it was developed as a trio in collaboration with ClassiCon.
Matéria is available in three different sizes and on three different surfaces. Individually or in combination, these handmade low planks are characterized by their materiality and show how sensual a minimalist approach can be. Available in a combination of natural or indigo-stained, open-pore travertine with light ash wood, as well as a deep black version with a table and frame in high-quality Nero Marquina marble.
The black marble version has the presence and constancy of a sculpture and exudes an air of luxury. The natural marbling of the polished, impregnated natural stone makes each piece unique. Both versions of Matéria (travertine or marble) are fascinating in their own way, with their unique, natural appearance, reminiscent of an abstract painting.
