The new Pacific collection was designed by Patricia Urquiola for Moroso and offers an intimate seating experience that makes the user feel like they are wrapped in a protective and relaxing capsule. With its round and large forms, it evokes the relaxing atmosphere of the American West Coast, hence its name.
Pacific is the continuation of a design process initiated by Patricia Urquiola in 2010 with the iconic Redondo collection. “The evolution of a collection that has achieved great success in recent years through the use of innovative and luxurious surfaces,” explains Patrizia Moroso, the company’s Artistic Director. “In Pacific we’re focusing more on shape and bringing back generous, curved lines.”
In Pacific Sofa, hard edges disappear, while soft forms are emphasized with “couture” details. The soft, woolen upholstery has been chosen to offer an exceptional tactile experience and the sofa surface is available in a choice of soft wool or luxurious velvet.
Pacific Sofa can be configured in different modules and is placed on a wooden and steel frame with different densities of polyurethane foam, injected polyurethane foam and polyester fibers. Seat cushions are filled with polyurethane foam and polyester fiber. The legs are made of black polypropylene.
