Among Frank Lloyd Wright’s numerous seating designs, the Taliesin West Armchair, which comes in four different variations, is one of the most unusual and at the same time one of the most comfortable.
Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright for his own residence in Taliesin West, Scottsdale, Arizona, this unique and ergonomically comfortable upholstered armchair was designed to be manufactured from a single panel of 4 feet by 8 feet laminated plywood. The chair uses many geometric shapes, including trapezoidal inner/outer side panels and 60-degree triangular shapes for the arms and legs.
