Tesaurus is a console series of sophisticated storage units from Maxalto. The shape emphasizes the high quality of the fine craftsmanship, starting with curved wooden doors, gently protruding shelves and a continuous profile that the volume follows. Tesaurus is available in three different heights and widths, with two or four doors, drawers and pull-out doors.
The base is a cast aluminum structure borrowed from the Caratos chair design, while the upper section is made of black Marquinia, white Calacatta or Emperador marble. The interior is made of elegant maple frisé. The oak veneer or Chilean Tineo wood is made with an irregular checkered pattern with cross grain. Parchment veneering requires a long and meticulous process and must be done by specialized artisans trained to respect the properties of the natural material. The parchment surface matures over time, so that it transforms like a fine wine and acquires new sophisticated shades. The value of Tesaurus is immediately apparent thanks to the intricate craftsmanship involved in the production process. Each piece in this collection becomes a special object, difficult to imitate and authentic. The family of storage units offers a variant inspired by traditional large travel trunks for a unit that is only 90 cm wide. It takes the original Maxalto logo from the 70s and uses it as a pattern, finished with a glossy polyester varnish that is repeated across the entire surface. The result is an iconic and extremely elegant piece.
