On the evening of 11 October 2024, Mozaik welcomed Knoll Vice President and designer Jonathan Olivares with a special invitation. On the opening night of the Saarinen exhibition at Mozaik’s Ortaköy Showroom, Olivares had a pleasant conversation about Eero Saarinen’s design approach, the new designs added to Knoll’s collection and the brand’s vision.

Mozaik, which has continued its pioneering mission by gathering the leading brands of the design world since 1992, brought design enthusiasts together again with the Saarinen exhibition.

This exhibition is a continuation of the ‘Knoll & Eero’ exhibition, organised in 2011 by Mozaik and stands out as a tribute to Saarinen.

On the opening night, Compasso d’Oro award-winner Jonathan Olivares, known as ‘The Designer’s Designer’, spoke about his role as Knoll’s Chief Design Officer and the brand’s contribution to contemporary design.

In this position which he accepted in 2022, Olivares acts as a bridge between Knoll’s iconic designs and the current design approach by bringing an innovative vision to the brand.

Olivares, who is also behind the Willo Perron collaboration that Knoll introduced at Milan Design Week 2024, is known for his functionality and interdisciplinary approach.

Olivares also unveiled Knoll’s newest design, the Perron Pillo sofa. Designed by Canadian designer Willo Perron, the sofa is the product of an interdisciplinary approach that brings together interiors, graphics, performance art and video production: Perron is widely recognised for his stage designs with leading music artists such as Kanye West, Rihanna and Jay-Z.

Presenting Olivares at the event, Yaman Erturan, the founder of Mozaik, mentioned that the Knoll brand which they have represented successfully for years, joined forces with Herman Miller and gathered under the roof of MillerKnoll. Erturan also stated that Mozaik recently became a MillerKnoll Authorised Dealer by adding Herman Miller to its portfolio and that they celebrated this union with the Saarinen exhibition.
