Designed in 1969, the UP series has been one of the most distinguished expressions of design since its inception, with its expressive shapes covered in elasticized fabric.
Standing in the middle between design and art and designed to be presented to a wide audience, this innovative solution is due to B&B Italia’s extensive technological know-how in the field of polyurethane injection molding. Particularly notable among the seats is the iconic UP5_6, with its impeccable anthropomorphic references: the metaphor of a large womb brings to mind ancient statues of fertility goddesses. But that’s not all: a spherical pouf attached to the seat contrasts the image of comfort and coziness with the more figurative image of a woman with a ball and chain tied to her foot.
