Wire DKW 2 Chair

The wire chairs of Charles and Ray Eames are officially a variant of the Eames Plastic Side Chairs. With its legendary wire base, the DKR combines transparency and functionality.

Powder coated versions are also suitable for use in the garden and terrace.

With the Wire Chair made of welded steel wire, Charles and Ray Eames diversified the theme of the organically shaped, one-piece seat shell with an expression of light transparency and high technicality. They are available with different soles. Wire Chairs are available without upholstery, with seat cushion or with seat and back cushion.

In 2016, Vitra increased the height of the bases of the Wire Chairs by approximately 20 mm and adjusted the geometry accordingly. These aesthetically subtle dimensions provide the classic chair with enhanced seating comfort in combination with contemporary tables.

The seat made of spot-welded steel wire adds transparency to the Wire Chairs by Charles and Ray Eames, and the wooden base of the DKW model (K-Wire Wood Dining Chair) creates a stark contrast to the fundamentally technical appearance.
