Designed by Olafur Eliasson by placing a 20-sided polyhedron inside a 12-sided polyhedron, the OE Qasi lighting was presented at Salone del Mobile this year.
Designed with the intertwining of 3-dimensional shapes that are opposite to each other, the lighting is designed by combining geometries with lighting. “I am thrilled to be working with Louis Poulsen, which has allowed me to combine my longtime interest in geometry with lighting,” says the designer, adding that the difference of his lighting is that it shines towards its core, and in this way translates precision into a quality atmospheric light. It is one of Louis Poulsen’s highest priced illuminations, but the company expects it to become one of the classics of this century. Søren Mygind Eskildsen, CEO of Louis Poulsen, said: “We have been designing lamps for 145 years, the challenge for us is always the same, for us light doesn’t just illuminate a room, our understanding of light means that it interacts with and shapes its surroundings, and I believe that OE Qasi lighting will become part of Louis Poulsen’s history and heritage.”
