Carlo Scarpa

Carlo Scarpa was born in Venice in 1906. Architect, designer and artist, Scarpa left the Venice Academy of Art in 1926 and began professional studies, but continued to visit craft workshops and Venetian master glassworkers. For twenty years, until the second half of the 1940s, he received various projects to design and prepare buildings. From architecture to glasswork, from design projects to museum exhibitions, Carlo Scarpa’s work has always managed to stand out because of his love for materials, his attention to detail and his skillful combination of organic details.
