Dutch designer Hella Jongerius’ Color Blocked Blankets are a perfect example of how the variety of shades used for warp and weft yarns affects the color scheme of woven textiles.
Four contrasting color blocks of greater or lesser intensity interact attractively to create a decorative overall pattern.
Different two-tone combinations of colored yarns can be seen on the edges of the blanket: in fringe shades at both ends and in thin strips of color woven in visible edging along the edges. Color Block Blankets are made of Peruvian highland wool.
