Gaetano Pesce’s radical spirit takes on a new dimension with Dalila. This year, Cassina renews the story of this collectible piece from its historical archive with a new proposal for interiors and an unprecedented version for exteriors.
Inspired by the famous biblical story of Samson and Delilah, this small armchair is a true showpiece of profound artistic significance, expressing the author’s intention to transfer the characteristic uniqueness of a work of art to industrial production. Pesce wanted to create “different serial objects, like people” and to produce similar but never identical designs through mass production. This vision, which challenged the norms of the industry at the time and which Cassina embraced with foresight, gave form and expression to Pesce’s creative genius.
