Belgian designer and sculptor Xavier Lust has signed Fossil for MDF Italia, an eclectic furniture accessory that can be used as a low table. A highly versatile design for a family of elements, revisited with more rounded, flowing lines. Made of lightweight concrete, it is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use and has a delicate, neutral finish that reflects the nuances of an organic, natural universe.
Cement with the most advanced technical/structural properties UHPFRC (ultra high performance fiber reinforced cement). A key feature of the components is mass coloration. The finish and color of the table bases are the result of a masterful mix of sand and natural elements.
Together with the slow maturation and drying given to each piece, this allows for a myriad of subtle tones to be achieved. The combination of this special material with a maturation process affected by weather changes can cause visual irregularities in design and color.
The subtle tones and lack of uniformity in surface and color should be considered unique features that increase the value of the piece.
