High Line Floor Lamp
High Line is a light sculpture with a thin line that emits light without revealing its source. This floor lamp by Josep Lluís Xuclà generates light indirectly through reflection and, uniquely, the light reflects off the wall, not the ceiling. The designer wants the light emitted from the wall to reflect back. The wall is the greatest ally of this lamp and they want to stay close to each other.
Stylistically, it is a composition of volumes and colors. Three blocks that stand out for their shapes and tones: a vertical, light-bearing element in oak, attached to a block of lacquered wood. Both rise above the black pedestal that determines the optimal distance from the wall for the lamp to create an ideal light source. The simplicity of their shapes contrasts with the warmth of their wood and the depth of their colors.
