Made of blown opal glass, the Plissée lampshade is like a delicate balloon of light in the air. The carefully crafted curved structure is handmade in a traditional Italian factory. It gives the luminaire a soft, almost textile look.
To some extent, Sebastian Herkner’s design references the famous paper lanterns from Japan and the lighting design of Isamu Noguchi. The glass shade of the plissée is frosted white both inside and out, directing the pleasant ambient light downwards to form a cone of light.

Made of blown opal glass, the Plissée lampshade is like a delicate balloon of light in the air. The carefully crafted curved structure is handmade in a traditional Italian factory. It gives the luminaire a soft, almost textile look.
To some extent, Sebastian Herkner’s design references the famous paper lanterns from Japan and the lighting design of Isamu Noguchi. The glass shade of the plissée is frosted white both inside and out, directing the pleasant ambient light downwards to form a cone of light.
Two metal rings made of lacquered aluminum – optionally black, bronze or brass – are attached to the upper bracket and the lower opening. Due to the traditional craftsmanship of glass blowing machines, the thickness of the glass lampshade varies minimally. The Plissée pendant is suspended by three thin steel wires for easy adjustment of the lamp.
