With their sedan chairs, Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu show how different impressions can be created by changing the material or color of individual elements in a design.
The seat and frame of the chair are designed as visually different, contrasting forms: The seat seems to be suspended in a wooden or metal frame, like a sedan chair, which gives the design its name.
While the armchair offers the ultimate in comfort, it is not a bulky, immobile object, but rather a lightweight, flexibly adjustable piece of furniture. With a fabric or leather trim combined with a frame made of wood or powder-coated steel, the Sedan blends harmoniously into any interior or creates a deliberate contrasting accent. The designers have thus designed the perfect chair for private use and for public spaces such as lounges, waiting rooms, reception areas – long sought after for the interiors of their projects – providing distinctive, comfortable and yet mobile and elegant seating.
