In 1920 Magistretti was born in Milan, where he graduated in architecture in 1945 and where his professional career has since shaped his story, especially in the fields of architecture, urban planning and industrial design. The first recognition of his work came in 1948 on the 8th. It came when he won the Gran Premio at the Triennale. After that came almost four decades of activity with other prizes and awards recognizing Magistretti’s work in various sectors in different countries. In 1960, he started designing for Cassina and since then he has designed many products.
