Founded in 1992, Mozaik, which has been representing the world leaders of design in Turkey since its inception, will celebrate its 30th anniversary on October 21. hosted guests to celebrate his anniversary. Known as a lifestyle center far beyond being just a design products store, Mozaik creates an unusual reference point in Turkey by offering all the requirements of modern life under one roof, from home furniture to office furniture; from bathroom and kitchen to lighting; from curtain and upholstery fabrics to accessories and designs for children.
With global selections from the world of design, Mozaik is like a museum where many design icons from MoMA’s permanent collection and much more coexist.
In addition, Mozaik has been working hard to promote modern design in Turkey, organizing seminars and exhibitions, and since its inception, Mozaik has been instrumental in raising interest in modern design in Turkey, thus changing people’s perception of modern design under the leadership of Mozaik.
In this context, Mozaik, 30. B&B Italia CEO Gilberto Negrini and world-renowned architect and designer Piero Lissoni, Art Director of B&B Italia, opened the doors of the design world for us.
The evening started with Piero Lissoni’s presentation, and later on, Istanbul Superband Orchestra with its 14-member band accompanied the event.
Piero Lissoni returned to the Mozaik Showroom, where he had previously visited in 2005, on the 30th anniversary of Mozaik. Presented at the B&B joint event on the occasion of the anniversary celebration. He started his speech, to which the guests showed great interest, by quoting Vitrivius, a Roman architect, writer and engineer. First of all, B&B introduced its new designs, produced in 2022. Pochette Armchair, Mjna Chair and Planck coffee table. He then talked about the design and production process of some of the iconic furniture he designed for B&B Italia, such as Edamame, Dock Sofa, Borea collection. The Novedrate and Via Durini store concepts he designed for B&B Italia, for which he is the art director, were also presented at Milan Design Week, B&B 15. He included graphic designs on the concept, corporate identity and brand of organizations such as the year in his presentation.
Lissoni, who creates products in multiple disciplines with architecture, furniture design and art direction, talked about his projects in different scales.
He mentioned Grand Park Hotel-Rovinj Croatia, Shangri-la Shougang Park-Beijing China, The Middle House-Shanghai China, The Ritz Carlton Residencez U.S.A. as current architectural projects. In addition to these projects, he presented his works in the field of graphic design with his villa housing projects and competition concept projects in Forte Dei Marmi, Israel.
300 people attended the event, which was also the 50th anniversary of Le Bambole, designed by Mario Bellini. The year was celebrated. The guests added color to the night by posing in fun poses with Le Bambole, designed in 1972.
Le Bambole sofas were first designed in 1972 and awarded the Compasso d’Oro in 1979. An icon of timeless contemporaneity and creativity, one of the most effective expressions of the excellence of Italian design, Le Bambole is a personal response to the armchair theme. What makes it so special is the invisibility of its structure, its natural form and its combination of comfort and softness. Originally designed with a metal structure embedded in polyurethane, Le Bambole is now available in recycled polyethylene only.
Visitors were asked to experience Le Bambole to better reflect its comfort – an experience they could sit, lie down or even jump on. In this way, visitors were recorded and this unique experience was photographed. The comfort of Le Bambole could not be better reflected.
