Calamo is not an old-style table with drawers full of paper, it is an essential piece of furniture, both in terms of function and appearance, something that can fit anywhere in the house.
The collection includes a new furniture accessory designed by young designer Gabriele Rosa: Calamo table-console table. Talc with cowhide pigmentato finish for its surface, black or graphite steel structure and storage space under the folding lid.
There is no doubt that the writing desk still has great appeal in the collective imagination, and Calamo’s goal is to make the proportions and shapes lighter for the needs of a modern public, as the designer explains: “So I opted for reduced dimensions, a light frame with a very thin top, I added a storage space that is the hallmark of this project, made entirely of cowhide. This space can be used for tablets, keys and coins, or to hold a fountain pen and a diary for people who are nostalgic and don’t want to share their thoughts with the web.”
