One of the best-known pieces of the Capitol Complex in Chandigarh, India, the solid wood armchair pays homage to Pierre Jeanneret and is distinguished by its unique structure in solid oak or teak and a Viennese cane seat.
The structure is made up of separate parts, including lateral supports that join to form an inverted “V” to support the armrests; this is a technical solution also shared by the Capitol Complex Chair version without armrests.
This Viennese chair evokes the characteristic spirit of the place, expressed in the use of local woods such as teak. The seat-backrest sequence combines straight legs to create a simple yet powerful whole.
