Eileen Gray is only 20. Not only did he create some of the most iconic furniture classics of the century, but he also ran a studio where carpets were produced according to his own designs. Some of their most beautiful designs are part of ClassiCon’s carpet collection.
Based on Eileen Gray’s 1920s gouache painting, Faubourg is the epitome of minimalism: three simple black lines in front of a square, natural white background create an exciting dynamic. The two curved lines refer to Eileen Gray’s furniture designs, such as the iconic Adjustable Table E1027, where circles and curves are recurring motifs. An angled line along one edge of the carpet creates an effective contrast with the circular motif.
The name of the Faubourg Carpet was inspired by the location of Gray’s studio on Rue de Faubourg St. Honoré in Paris.
