Poul Henningsen designed the triple shadow system in 1925-1926. The first lighting using the system was designed by PH in collaboration with Louis Poulsen for an exhibition in Paris.
The PH 4/3 Table is a member of the triple shade family. PH therefore designed not just a light, but a whole system; about a thousand different models have been produced over the years. PH lamp model numbers refer to the lamp shade size. The PH 4/3 Table was launched in its current form in 1966.
