Forty years after the launch of the Max sofa, Antonio Citterio returns to one of the most beloved and emblematic Flexform designs. He revisits it with a more contemporary eye and expands its possibilities of use, leaving some of its distinctive features untouched.
The new model is called Supermax and has more generous proportions compared to the Max sofa of 1983.
The rationalist-inspired sleek tubular metal structure is slightly lowered to encourage a more relaxed posture, while the characteristic kidney bean-shaped seat cushion has been completely redesigned in size and enhanced with additional padding for greater comfort.
The perfectly padded cylindrical backrest is even more striking in the version with two-color upholstery.
If the Max sofa is ideally designed for use in waiting rooms, executive offices and lounges, the Supermax, with its deep low seat, aims for a more central and multifunctional living room role in both residential and hospitality environments.
