As every year, Milan Design Week continues to be a platform for showcasing the design world’s most exciting and innovative trends. The year 2025 witnessed an influx of collections shaped by the unique perspectives of world-renowned brands, designers and artists, blended with timeless and sustainable aesthetics. The deepening exploration of materials, innovative collaborations and the evolution of outdoor design in furniture design set this year’s event apart from previous years. Combining Italy’s exquisite craftsmanship tradition with contemporary design, these new collections send a powerful message about the future of design, both aesthetically and functionally.

We take a detailed look at some of the most striking collections and designer creations from this year’s Milan Design Week.

B&B ITALIA

B&B Italia continues to carry its iconic designs into the future while unveiling brand new designs this year in its 2025 collection, The Collection Amplified, which reflects its continuous evolution.

Among the prominent designs of the new collection are Cocùn, a modular seating system with fluid forms by Antonio Citterio; Flat.C Frame bookcase and storage unit, an evolutionary interpretation of Citterio’s classic design Flat.C; and Metropolitan Relax, an ergonomic lounge armchair with a swivel mechanism designed by Jeffrey Bernett.

In addition to the innovations, Patricia Urquiola’s iconic Tufty-Time 20 sofa system, Antonio Citterio’s classic Charles sofa and Diesis, designed in collaboration with Paolo Nava, take their place in the collection with their updated versions.

MAXALTO

This year marks an important milestone in Maxalto’s history: In 1975, Maxalto’s adventure began with the desire of Piero Ambrogio Busnelli, founder of B&B Italia, to create a brand that preserves, defends and perpetuates traditional craftsmanship. Under the creative direction of Antonio Citterio since 1993, Maxalto celebrates its 50th anniversary this year with two special designs.

Produced in only 50 pieces exclusively for Maxalto’s 50th anniversary, Lilum 50 turns into a canvas reflecting the calligraphic art practice of Dutch artist Patrick van Riemsdijk.
For the 50th anniversary, one of the brand’s classics, the Pathos Table, has been reinterpreted by Citterio in a special series. The Pathos 50 Table will also be produced in only 50 pieces, numbered and certified as authentic.

FENDI CASA

Born from Silvia Venturini Fendi“s fashion vision, Fendi Casa successfully brings the Fendi signature to living spaces by bringing together the most exclusive components of Italian craft. Ceriani Szostak, the young design studio of the brand, adds the Later Sofa and Armchair to the Fendi Casa collection, based on the idea of adapting the design language they saw in Fendi” s headquarters, Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana, to a sofa. In addition, Soho Side Table designed by Toan Nyugen, Peekasleep Bed designed by Controvento and Twist FF Chair by Gallizioli also join the collection this year. The console unit and side table added to the Efo Seriesdesigned by Peter Mabeo draw attention with a perfect reference to the brand’s FF logo.

CASSINA

A philosophy, a vision, a unique approach to contemporary living: “The Cassina Perspective” is enriched again this year by an eclectic range covering a wide range of styles to create unique atmospheres. The 2025 Collection is characterized by designs that explore the link between research, innovation and superior craftsmanship, perfectly reflecting the brand’s DNA.

In honor of the 60th anniversary of the Le Corbusier®, Pierre Jeanneret® and Charlotte Perriand® Collection, Cassina is reintroducing four iconic seating systems (LC1, LC2, LC3 and LC4) – 1 Fauteuil dossier basculant, 2 Fauteuil Grand Confort, petit modèle, 3 Fauteuil Grand Confort, grand modèle, 4 Chaise longue à réglage continu – in limited-time special editions. Available for one year only, these designs will be available in three new versions in red, blue or green and with tone-on-tone upholstery.

The Cassina iMaestri Collection has another development worth celebrating: From its archives, the company has reinterpreted the 1975 Fiandra model by Vico Magistretti and brought it to the present day with a sustainability-oriented production process and innovative materials.

Formafantasma‘s first furniture design for Cassina FF. Spine The bookcase reveals the production power of the brand’s carpentry workshop. Ronan Bouroullec joins the collection with the sculptural Treflo table, his first solo design at Cassina.

Patricia Urquiola creates many new designs, including the Mon-Nid bed for the bedroom, the Back-Wing armchair for the dining area and an extended version of the Dudet Bold armchair, ideal for projects. Philippe Starck‘s iconic Volage EX-S Night bed and Somewhere El-S seating collection are reinterpreted with new material combinations.

Linde’s collaboration with Freya Tangelder continues in its third year. The monolithic Fluid Joinery – Side Table I, made of mouth-blown glass, sheds light on the complex processing of this fascinating material.

HENGE

Henge presented its 2025 collection at Milan Design Week last week. Designers Tanju Özelgin and Johanna Grawunder met Henge for the first time, and the collection showcased new designs by Yabu Pushelberg and works by Henge’s creative companions Massimo Castagna, Isabella Genovese and Ugo Cacciatori in the brand’s impressive showroom at Via della Spiga 34.

The 2025 Collection continues Henge’s innovative approach to contemporary design with designs that redefine the relationship between material, space and emotion.

PROMEMORIA

True joy is hidden in comfort. Promemoria’s “Joie de Vivre” (Joy of Living) collection, presented at this year’s Milan Design Week, interprets the brand’s characteristic elegance and “joy of living” theme with impeccable Italian craftsmanship. In addition to the designs of the brand’s creators Romeo Sozzi and Davide Sozzi, the collection features pieces by Andrea Sanguineti such as Agharti cabinet, Jules writing desk, Karl wing chair, Glamour bed and bedside table in the interior; and Cap d’Ail sofa, Edo marble coffee table, Mirtilla lantern and Karina floor lamp in the exterior. The collection is enriched with handcrafted details and reflects Promemoria’s timeless aesthetic approach with natural materials such as oak, marble, bamboo and aluminum.

Introduced simultaneously with the Joie de Vivre collection, “The London Collection – Act II” is the continuation of Promemoria’s London Collection launched in 2015 by David Collins Studio. Inspired by British architecture, this series reinterprets timeless forms with Italian elegance.

KNOLL

In 2022, after accepting the position of Knoll Vice President and Chief Design Officer, Jonathan Olivares’ connection between Knoll’s iconic designs and contemporary design approach yielded its first products with the Willo Perron collaboration announced by the brand last year. In 2025, in addition to Olivares Perron, Knoll invited Jonathan Muecke, Johnston Marklee and Joseph d’Urso to its organization, exciting industry professionals and design enthusiasts. Muecke’s Table and Chair, multidisciplinary designer Willo Perron’s Bun Armchair, Johnston Marklee’s Biboni Sofa and Joseph d’Urso’s industrial chic d’Urso Occasional Coffee Table are among the newest members of the Knoll collection.

Announced at the 2025 Milan Design Week, the brand new fabrics and finishes of Mies van der Rohe’s design wonder Barcelona Armchair allow to personalize an iconic classic with contemporary touches.

FLEXFORM

Flexform, which announced its collaboration with Japanese designer Fumie Shibata last year with the Eri Armchair, is turning Eriinto a series with the Eri Armchair with swivel mechanism and a pouf. Shibata’s newest design Enn Table, Ozzy Armchair and Chair by Patrick Norguet took their place in the 2025 collection.

Continuing its creative collaboration with Antonio Citterio for many years, Flexform exhibited Citterio ‘s Loungescape modular sofa system and Loungescape Armchairat its showroom in Via Moscova.

The outdoor version of the Camelot Modular Sofa system by Citterio, introduced last year, made its debut in Milanthis year. The armchairs and chairs of the outdoor compatible Oasis and Luchino series were also included in the outdoor collection. Flexform Outdoor collection is an ideal choice for those who want to bring the comfort of the living space to the outdoors without sacrificing elegance.

EDRA

Edra, which has been successfully reflecting the importance it attaches to material research in its collection for two years, announced the Every Place fabric series, which makes its popular sofas usable outdoors. Following this series, Every Stone, Gems and Glossy Matt series were introduced at Milan Design Weekthis year. The Cicladi Coffee Table by Jacopo Foggini, one of the best-selling designs of the collection, was added to the collection this year with gold and red color options. In addition, the bases of the Cicladi Table, each one unique and made from naturally occurring nodules, are offered in three different heights in gold, palladium and ruthenium colors.

GALLOTTI & RADICE

In the 2025 collection announced with the theme “Resonance”, Gallotti & Radice draws attention with the unlimited options it offers in terms of materials.

A significant part of the new collection features Gallotti & Radice‘s flagship designers such as Studiopepe, Massimo Castagna, Federica Biasi, Pietro Russo and Carlo Colombo, while also incorporating the work of emerging design studios such as David/Nicholas and Draga & Aurel.

The glass material in the DNA of the brand is generously emphasized again this year with the Mirage Coffee Table by Studiopepe and Arch Side Tables by David / Nicholas.

Massimo Castagna, who has been working with the brand for a long time, introduced the Evolis sofa system and Olivia Armchairwith Gallotti & Radice together with Martina Castagna. The H20 Lounge Armchair and the Loulou Rockrocking chair, one of the novelties of the 2025 collection, are designed by Studiopepe. Draga & Aurel“s Tratto Lighting was included in the collection as the new member of Gallotti & Radice” s lighting series.

PAOLA LENTI

“Ritrovarsi”,Paola Lenti‘s special project for Milan Design Week2025, took shape in a layered project that creates an awe-inspiring atmosphere of the relationship between architecture and nature. Paola Lenti, who handled the interior innovations under the theme “Àlfa, Timeless Home” and the exterior innovations under the theme “Gardens”, added two design classics to both product ranges: Azul Armchair by Lina Bo Bardi for the outdoor collection and Légère Sofa by Angelo Mangiarotti and Chiara Pampo for the indoor collection.

Paola Lenti invites you to explore the theme of sustainability with a bench designed by Atelier Oï and an armchair by Estúdio Campana, while the tradition of woodworking is explored with a limited edition cabinet designed by AMDL CIRCLE, founded by Michele de Lucchi.

Known for seamlessly combining the artisanal process with continuous innovation to maximize outdoor durability, this year the brand is adding unique outdoor fabrics to its outdoor collection. The Alma Sofa System, designed by Francisco GomezPaz, is one of the newest designs for the outdoors, with new updates to the Plano, Dock and Mae ranges in the Paola Lenti collection and a brand new pattern for the Sciara Table, one of its best-selling products.

EXTETA

Exteta has set a new standard by redefining the “Made in Italy” label, Italian craftsmanship and understanding of outdoor living. Exteta has quickly become the first brand that comes to mind in the field of yacht furniture and outdoor living.

This year, Exteta, an exhibitor at both Salone del Mobileand Fuorisalone, introduced its collaboration with Riva Yachts to design lovers. The collection, signed by Massimo Castagna, is based on Riva‘s history of more than 180 years, its deep-rooted heritage and original spirit. Every detail bears the traces of the elegance and craftsmanship that have permeated every creation of the Italian shipyard since 1842: From the legendary “dolce vita” era of the 1960s to the technological innovations of today, it is a tribute to aesthetics and the art of living.

Studiopepe, the design duo Studiopepe, Massimo Castagna and Paola Navone / Otto Studio, who assumed the role of Creative Director of Extetanot long before Salone, have expanded the range with brand new designs and new updates of the products in the collection. Thanks to a special technology, the leather is folded and shaped like origami, providing structural support. The Shell Collection, which draws attention with its light and simple lines, explores the potential of leather.

RODA

Last year, Roda, whose collaboration with fashion house Missoni was one of the most popular collaborations, brought Missoni‘s patterns to outdoor spaces and won the hearts of those who do not want to compromise on elegance and taste as well as durability and quality in outdoor furniture.

Showcasing the Roda x Missoni collaboration on the brand’s best-known series such as Mamba, Philia and Orson, the brand presents the new seating and dining collection Stresadesigned by Piero Lissoni, the Erice Armchair designed by Luca Pevere inspired by the traditional Siciliantexture and the Aspic Tabledesigned by Gordon Guillaumier with its sculptural character in the 2025 collection.

SALVATORI

As always, Salvatori uses Milan Design Weekas a platform to showcase new designs, collaborations and inspiring decoration ideas. This year, the brand unveils “Nagi”, a new texture designed by previous collaborators Yabu Pushelberg and “Nereo”, a new bathroom collection by Elisa Ossino.

In a collection where natural stone becomes a key element of both expression and design, the new Nereo Bathroom Collection designed by Elisa Ossino interprets natural stone with soft and majestic forms, emphasizing the sculptural aspects and precious nature of this extraordinary material. Nereo takes its name from the sea nymphs of Greek mythology, the Nereids.

“Recreating the movement of water on stone is an approach that reflects Salvatori‘s philosophy,” say George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg of the design duo Yabu Pushelberg, emphasizing that all products, from bathroom units and sinks to wall textures and floor coverings, address the fundamental relationship between water and stone. The word “nagi” (凪) is of Japanese origin and describes the stillness and calming effect of the sea.
